The Gower Family
September 2024
Recently, we returned from an impactful ministry trip to Mexico. During the past six months, we have been preparing and organizing a 2-day missions conference which was held in Puebla, Mexico on September 13-14th. We had the opportunity to work with Jose and Enma Reyna, whom we served with in Venezuela and Mexico during the early years of our ministry (25+ years ago). The purpose of the conference was to mobilize Mexican believers to serve as missionaries overseas. Our expectations were exceeded, and we were incredibly blessed. We prepared for about 100 participants from many different churches. As registration progressed, we scrambled to bring in additional seating and welcome packets to accommodate more than 120 people. People came from many parts of Mexico, some traveling as far as 1,800 miles to attend the conference. We were blessed and humbled to host such a powerful event!
I want to share two testimonies from the conference. The first is from a precious, 17-year-old girl, who stood up on the second day and expressed that God had confirmed His calling on her life to serve Him on the mission field. Her commitment was solidified as she and her parents asked to speak with us about specifics regarding what steps she can take next to prepare for a life of missionary service! We were deeply moved as her parents expressed their pain of realizing the calling of God on their daughter’s life and the separation that means for them. However, they faithfully shared their commitment to entrusting their daughter to God and supporting her 100% as she prepares to launch into the mission field.
A second testimony came in the form of an email a few days after the event.
“Dear brother Daniel. It was truly an encouragement and blessing to meet you. God used you to reaffirm His calling on my life. I pray that God would continue to use you and your family to raise awareness in the church about the need to walk in obedience to the Father for the expansion of His Kingdom!”
This dear brother and his wife are now preparing to serve in a closed country in the Middle East this coming year. They have laid aside personal ambitions, and are obediently saying “Yes, we will go!”
What a privilege it is for us to see brothers and sisters throughout Latin America respond to God’s call to “go into all the world!” We already have open invitations to put on missions conferences next year in Mexico and Ecuador. Please pray that God continues to open doors and provide the funds needed for these ministry opportunities
